I have a jabsco toilet part # 29090-0000. The handle only pulls out about an inch to pump. I just bought this boat so I don't know if the older jabsco toilets had a different pump stroke length. It doesn't matter if I twist the handle or now, or if it's in dry or wet bowl. Believe it or not, it pumps the water out of the bowl but did not pump the water into the bowl from the seacock.

Can somebody shed some light please?

THANKS!!!

pull the 4 screws on the top plate at handle and the whole pump will lift out and you can see the length the pump should pull up.

I gave it a good yank today and sure enough, it pulls up like 6-8 inches. Now I need to get back on the water to test it again.

thanks for the reply.

Re: Manual toilet needs fixing.

Went out yesterday and the toilet pumps out of the bowl but not into the bowl. The seacock was open. What needs to be done to get this toilet pump water in. I tried filling the bowel while in the wet bowel position and pumping but the water just pumped out instead.

To sum it up, with dry bowl selected, the bowl is emptied, with the wet bowl selected, the bowl is emptied.

THANKS!!!

my only guess is that the seacock needs to be opened to pump water into the bowl. i hate to be so ignorant but are you sure you opened the correct seacock? and didnt close it instead?

Re: Manual toilet needs fixing.

I have 3 seacocks (A/C, holding tank pump out, toilet intake) below the engine. All my seacocks are open except for the A/C ( no generator ). The 2 that are open has the handle inline with the hose.

Replace the seal on the pump handle. A lot of times they just crap out -

Re: Manual toilet needs fixing.

Update:

I took the 6 screws off the top cover. Pulled the handle, and gasket out. The rectangular gasket with the little flappers were corroded a bit, and sticky and not moving freely. I cleaned up the gasket well. There are no nicks or anything obvious that would impede a seal - it is a gasket. Checked the o-ring that goes to the hosing where the rods slides through, looked like new. Put it all back together...

Removed the inlet pipe and placed a temp hose into a bucket near the toilet. This took out the piping/seacock/sanitizer out of the equation. Same thing. it pumps out but not into the bowl.

I have the Parts breakdown that came with the (-0000)toilet and there is one piece that is not present in this diagram that is now present in the new models (-3000) parts diagram, and thats a spring. I wonder if this spring is now needed or just an option.

I guess my next step is to just get a repair kit.

Any other ideas?

PS where can I get this kit?

Re: Manual toilet needs fixing.

Update:

Bought an overhaul kit on amazon for 35 bucks shipped. installed all the rubber parts except the two that go at the bowel base. GREAT!!! I lubed the cylinder and shaft. It pump nicely now!!

ONE ISSUE THOUGH,.....

the water coming in STINKS!!!!! HORRIBLY!! There is an inline T-fitting before the toilet that has a blue liquid in it? What is this for? There is also a smaller T-fitting just before that one. Not sure whats in the smaler t-fitting. Any pointers on how to get rid of the stinch!!!
