picked up a '81 2 hp evinrude which I hope to fix up and put on a small inflatable.
I sprayed some 50:1 premix into the cylinder and put on a new plug. couldn't get it to start with the pull rope. I put in a spark plug tester and it showed no spark when I pulled the rope. what could be wrong? when should I do next? thanks. (I'll check out a service manual from the library in a couple of days)
the seller said it had been sitting the garage for over 10 yrs, but ran fine before that.
