50 hp merc fuel leak

when I start my merc 50 hp 4stroke fuel starts coming out from under the cowl just above the water intake. everything looks dry under water pump , hoses and carbs.

OK The fuel is coming from the over flow. Why?

What overflow? If you mean a vent in the carb, the float is stuck, or the inlet needle and seat are stuck so fuel is not being shut off when the float bowl is full. Carb rebuild time. If this is an EFI engine ignore the above.
