We just bought our first project boat and want to put it on blocks so that we can also refurbish the trailer. We have seen the blocks sold for that purpose but can't figure out how we would get the 24' pontoon on them and then how we would get it back on the trailer. This probably sounds pretty dumb to some, but your expertise would greatly be appreciated!!

Just finished doing this task, and this time it was a one man show. A second body would have been helpful, but not available this weekend.
I used a Hi-Lift jack, but any kind that could take the weight would do. First I blocked the trailer front and rear to prevent tipping when the weight was off. Then I jacked up the rear, one toon at a time and blocked up each side with a stable base under each. I stacked shipping pallets. I should note that I had the boat back beyond the rear of the trailer to allow this to happen without interference from the trailer. With the back suspended slightly above the trailer and stable I moved to the front. There was enough space between the deck and the top of the toon to slide in two 12' 2x6 planks across the boat with a couple of feet sticking out each side. I jacked up the front at the center until the front was suspended as well and then braced each end of the 2x6 with a makeshift sawhorse with an extra outrigger out to the side for adddition stability. Now with the boat suspended I removed the trailer blocks and pulled the trailer out by hand. Now the tricky part. I jacked up each rear corner, alternating back and forth, removing one pallet at a time, until the boat was on the ground. then I moved to the front and with the jack in the center, removed the sawhorses and lowered it to the ground.
