Wow it seems like there are a lot of 80's and newer rays out there. Well here is my 75 SRV190 i'm restoring. She was repowered with a merc 260 at some point that runs great after sitting for almost 8 years.

Hi everyone, I'm new here so I'll introduce my self with my boat!

I'm from Europe - Croatia and have this boat for 2 years. Spend almost 15k Euro on repairing it (small glitches) but it's worth every penny
Bought new engine 2008 and it works like clock Mercruiser 4.3l MPI 220HP
This is 1991 21' Sorrento model:

kfraser - your boat looks a lot like mine, but cleaner ! I'll get there one day <sigh>

So, I'm new here, new to boats and starting out with a project, but a classic solid boat (I hope). She's an SRV220 with a 402 Ford. The HIN says 1974, but so far I haven't heard tale of a 220 from 1974. I'm in touch with Sea Ray to get some info. Her previous owner stripped her right down, replaced ALL the plywood and got the carpet down, installed the rebuilt engine that sounds AWESOME and that's where he quit. For this year, we just want to get her wet. We don't have tons of time or tons of money, but I wanted to have a family recreational activity. I thought it was going to be boating, skiing and fishing, but so far it's restoring! HA!

So,this is all basically pickup day. This is "how to build a boat trailer and load a 3500lb boat on it in 6 hours." Actually, it was more than that, but it was about 6 hours on site. Couldn't buy a used trailer here at all! Last pic is what I get to clean up. Yikes!

MDH is dealing with the few minor engine things -- hooking up fuel lines, reinstalling the fuel pump WITH a gasket, please... He is also in charge of the stern drive which is new to him. Seems not too awful though. Basic mechanics, hydraulics, gearing, joints. We'll see once he's into it. I get to deal with the interior -- building the console base and installing same, galley, seats, trim. Electrical is for both of us to do and paint is next year we hope.

I'm thinking of looking for a hardtop for it, though the previous owner said he trashed it because it was too hot underneath and it was too low. It'll have to be a hard-top or a new custom cover as I have only the original that snaps to the hard-top. Hasn't been decided yet. Minor detail.

Are we nuts? Ya, probably, but what the heck. The price was right.

Finally got around to picking up my '75 Sea Ray 190. Dad called me about 2 weeks ago and gave it to me. Said that he was done with it, since it's not seen the water in about 8 years ago or so.

Before the quick bath at the car wash.

After the bath. It's still full of grime and leaves, as it was under a carport type storage place, but uncovered. I had expected the upholstery to be all torn up from critters and such, but it all appears to be in tact from when he had the seats reupholstered several years ago.

Overall, it appears to be in pretty good shape. Gonna rebuild the carb, replace the fuel and water pumps and see if I can get it to start up.

Thumbs up Re: Post a pic of yours.... classic/vintage or new Sea Ray

This is a shot of my 1963 Sea Ray Model 808. Powered by dual 1963 40 Horse Johnsons and sitting on a 1963 E Z Load tandem trailer with Sea Ray logos over the fenders. It has a matching interior and the whole package is in excellent shape. Built in Oxford, Mi. by Ray Industries. It runs great and gets lots of looks going up and the lake.

Talking Re: Post a pic of yours.... classic/vintage or new Sea Ray

I just bought a 1987 268DA hoping to have a lot of fun next summer. The first Pic is where it was when I bought it in Grand Haven Mi. but I was more impresed with the 40' Sonic with Triple 700's in it that was on the lift next to it. The second is where she will sleep for the winter an hour west of Chicago. I liked the name but my wife didn't think our Church friends would understand so the new name will be (IT's All About the FUN.)
This is another Great CraigsList find!
