I'm looking at a used 16' v-Hull Fisher SV-3 for what seems like a great price. However, I can find almost no info on this boat anywhere. I'm thinking it's a 1987, aluminum hull. Got the length, width, transom height and that's about it. Can anyone tell me anything more about these?
I've read that Fisher was bought out by Tracker in the mid 90's and folks seem happier with the older boats. It might be a solid hull or 2 piece welded. Either way, no rivets is good with me. Floor might be aluminum too, which would just be fantastic. Still waiting on the owner to get back to me on these questions.
I plan to make a little trip to see it, but I want as much info as I can get on this boat first. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
HA! That's good to hear. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I'm moving from an Outcast pontoon to this, so I'll have plenty of questions for you guys I'm sure. Thanks again!
Sounds like a very nice hull, no rivets to loosen up and leak
Just curious what the data plate has to say...as far as weight capacity and hp ratings. Those all-welded hulls should be rated higher than rivetted, just curious.
75hp is pretty good, my 16' is rated for 85hp...I would attribute the difference to the Starcraft SS having higher sides and just a montrous, cavernous splashwell.
5 people wouldn't fish that rig comfortably but she's perfect for 2-3, the extra weight capacity can then be used for extra fishing gear, a bigger cooler full of beverages, or just extra gas.
