Obama did have a point on this reply on PM Howard's comment.

"If Prime Minister Howard truly believes what he says, perhaps his country should find its way to contribute more than just 1,400 troops so some American troops can come home," he said. "It's easy to talk tough when it's not your country or your troops making the sacrifices"

Yah, That was a real good demonstartion of Bamma's diplomatic skills, (he has a lot of experience in this area ya know). He sets a date for our enemies to mark their calenders by, and one of our TRUE allies, (BTW: not the French), that have actually put their soldiers at risk. He tells 'em ta put over 21,000 in the fight. Real good. The Dems really want to loose this war don't they. They claim that everybody in the world will luv us if they win. Hmmmmm. I am afraid that if my President slammed Obama it would raise Obama in the polls, 12Footer.

I am pleased, though, that The Honorable Mr. Howard commented.

What is the per capita contribution of OZ to the coalition? I was under the impression that OZ population is smaller than many of our states. I would bet that Sen Obama has no clue.

Oz population - 20,000,000.

Defence force personnel - 50,000.

Total number in Iraq, Afghanistan & other persian gulf areas - 2500. (5%)

[colour=blue]I must admit, after researching the above figures, I'm a little surprised. I would have thought that 5 to 10 thousand would be doable, but it would probably be political suicide for Howard.

Bali is still very fresh in our minds, we might not be many but we're in for the duration. We won't do a spain.
