I have a 1986 Cobia Monte Carlo 189xl. It's light gray and blue. I need to do some topside repairs and I'm going to remove the carpet and paint it to match the original gray. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand/color of paint and or gelcoat will match? Thanks for your help.

If you're going to paint it, might as well paint the whole thing. With sun fade, no 2 areas on the hull will be the same color. You can match the paint to one area on the hull, and it will be completely different on the other side.

Only try to match the paint if you're re-doing a small area. Anything more than that, might as well do it all. Maybe even one whole side. A color difference might not be detectable from the side to the transom, or from one side of a pin stripe or decal to the other.
