Default How often do I need to change plugs?

I have a 96 tourn. v17 with a force 90 motor. I have had it 2 1/2 years now and have never changed the plugs. Also I have ran it with 40-1 oil mixture. Is that the right mix? This forum has helped me out so much just from reading that I finally joined. So thanks for your help.

you should at least check the gap each year under light use more frequently if you use it a lot. 40-1 is the standard 2 stroke mix for things lke weedeaters chainsaws and such. outboard motor 2 strokes can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer so you would have to contact the manufacturer for that info if you do not have your manual. another place to check is the engine data plate on the motor it should have it listed there or possible on or near the gas tank.

i got tired of mucking with fuel oil mixes and went four stroke on my current boat. far fewer headaches with not having to worry about oil mixes and such. good luck.
