Open bow side cushion removal

I have a '93 Status 180 Bowrider. One of the railings on the port side of the open bow is loose and the side cushion needs to be removed to access the bolts to tighten it. Does anyone know how the side cushions are attached - velcro, snaps, other? They fit so tight that I'm reluctant to just yank it.

Also, has anyone ever mounted a raised ski rope pole on this boat?
