Smile Stereo location in a 1900 Key West?

Hello,

I have a Key West 1900 Center Console that I am installing a stereo. I am looking for ideas and pictures of other boat owners with similar boats.

Regards,

I just bought a 1998 KW 1900 and I'm wondering the same thing. I have a T-Top on mine and I guess I could buy a electronics box and mount it up there, but I'd like to see how you finally mounted yours and whether you are pleased. I know this is an old post, but maybe you are still there or some other person would chime in.

Put in in the electronics box up top. Routing the wires can be tricky, I was lucky enought to have had 2 wires already "fished" up there. The absolute easiest way is to put EVERYTHING in the center console. 2 speakers on either side and the stereo, in a box, mounted on top by your fish finder. Thats the easiest. Definately not the best sounding set up though. The best sound comes from 2 in the front by the casting chair and 2 just behind the rod holders by the cooler seat. FYI, Behind the access hatches by the gas filler are black tubes that give "wire" access to the hatch in the center console.

Hello JackFlorida,

I am still around but, have not installed my stereo yet. Still can't make up my mind for a location.

I will report back once that is decided.

Regards,

Hello Everyone

I have the same dilemma with my 1900 Sportsman. My initial thought is to mount in in the flat section of the console below and to the right of the whee. As mentioned above, I feel the best speaker placement would be on each side to the casting chair and behind the rod holders; however, I am open to any and all suggestions.

Good morning,

Did you blank out your dash storage compartment to install the radio?
