Default DnPymt on 03' 2050 Sportfish but she is 2k over NADA???

Well, I am upgrading from my 16.5 footer and found this really sweet 03 Crestliner Sportfish 2050 with an 01 Suzuki 150 2stroke but think I might be paying too much.
NADA says the boat is valued at 14,000 and the dealer wants 17,000.
The boat is very clean but I have some concerns.
- Smell gas when I open the front storage compartment, asked dealer to pressure test tank but how do you know if they actually do?
- Dealer says mom and pop owned it on their lake for crusing but I see that it at one time it had a bow mount trolling motor, and some form of depth finder and marine radio... Not sure the dealer is being straight with me.
Boat is in excellent condition with only minor scrapes.
I woudl appreciate any feedback and tips on what to look for.

Welcome to the iboats.com forum!!
NADA is a great tool but is usually way off the mark for boats that are in exceptional condition or really poor condition. If the boat is worth the money to you, then buy it. Crestliners last years and years if well taken care of.

The best way for boat values is to find something close that has sold recently. There are always boats for sale but finding out what they actually sold for is a different matter. NADA is good for a baseline but doesn't take into account boats that are exceptionallly nice or a real piece of crap.
The bottom line is if you're willing to pay a certain price for a boat and are happy with it, then don't worry if someone else thinks you may have paid too much.
The boat in my signature was bought 2 years ago for $3600. It had last been registered in 1997 and was winterized and placed into a garage for 10 years. I bought it, paid a marina to fully go thru it and replace a few things for a total of $700. I've now had it for 2 years and it has been trouble free. The marina estimated that the outboard had less than 20 hours on it.
