Default Key switch Problem

Hi guys,
My non mechanical son has a problem with his 2007 1800 SR3. He's asked me to look at it tomorrow but I have no experience with Maxum boats.

It seems the key switch has somehow loosened and the key just turns 360* without starting anything. Any ideas on how this is connected, and can I get at the switch under the dash? Thanks in advance for any insight or advice.

Kelly

Default Re: Key switch Problem

You should have no problems getting to the ignition switch from the back of the dash and it's a very simple fix. The switch has a long threaded neck with two plastic nuts, one on the front of the dash and the other on the rear. Simply tighten them together so there's friction against the dash and you should be all set. On mine, the nut on the outside of the dash is covered by a rubber boot that makes it look nice, but it should be fairly obvious when you look at it.
