Default Bought my first boat Maxum 1800MX

OK, so I bought a new 2008 Maxum for $13,995 on Friday. I think I got a hell of a deal, it came with the Bimini top, snap in carpet and covers for front and back. The weekend was great, so much fun.

Though we did have two issues. First Friday night I didn't put the covers on since we were heading out in the morning and no rain was forecasted. Well at 2am I heard thunder and then a downpour. needless to say I spent 1 hour in her morning drying her up.

The second was a noob mistake. Put the boat in on Sunday pulled the trailer out and then decided to stop and ask my wife if she put the drain plug in. Her answer NO, YIKES. Rushed to put it back on he trailer, had a bit of water but not to much. At least we now the bilge pump works.

Congrats on the new boat! I have the same boat and have been enjoying it now in my second season. I just wish I got the bimini top instead of the convertible top.

Don't worry too much about keeping her dry, she's a boat and she can take the rain. You definitely want it to be dry when you put the covers on because the moisture will breed mold but allowing the sun to dry her will make her happy, yet in need of a bath.

I think I've only been out once with the carpets but I think I may put them back in for the next time out because it makes it less slippery for the kids when they get off the tube.

Where are you from? Anywhere near NJ?
