I've had this boat for 3 months and can't figure out whether the drain plug in the back is actually supposed to be plugged. First, a 1" drain plug is way too small and a 1-1/4" is too big. Second, if its plugged then there is no way for the front hatches to drain, since they don't connect to the bilge. Third, if I don't use the plug, the front hatch stays a steady few inches when not underway and drains completely when underway. For reference purposes, I am talking about the drain plug on the transom that connects to the front deck hatch via the long black pipe. My theory is no plug.

On my 91 19' CC there are 3 thru hull conectors and the threaded bilge drain
one thru hull feeds the live well pump
the second is the live well drain and
the third is the drain for the seat compartment at the bow
I have never had water back up into the front seat area even with a full load of fuel and bodies
I have seen it in my live well with a little water when fully loaded
there should not be riding so low as to have this problem
you may need to check the hull for water soaked foam
if this boat is riding at the normal depth in the water them you may want to install some valves inline to the thru hulls and then you will be able to open or close thru the bilge area with ease

Thanks for the response! I think I figured it out, the previous owner was using a plug at the transom because there is a leak between the drain fitting in the front compartment and the hull. I'm going to hit it up with some 4200 and see if that fixes it.
