Just wondered how many other lady anglers frequent this board. I know we have a couple. But how many more lurkers do we have?

Whether your the angler, mate, or skipper on board it would be nice to hear from you. Learn what type of water you fish, and what you fish for. I would also like to share tips and techniques. (No laughing guys). :p

Besides, if your anything like me your the angler, mate and skipper at any given time. I'm sure there are plenty of good stories out there. ;)

Come on in......the waters just fine. :)

Geez Crabby. The next thing you know women will want to vote and sit at the bar and everything. :p

And, we just might put you to shame as far as fishing, or die trying. ;)

There was a show on ESPN a while ago in the mornings. Couple young, attractive, bikini clad women fishing (show may have even been called "fish on"). Somehow, I do not think that their target audience was women fisherpeople. :D Nor do I think the target audience was interested in their fishing ability :D

Ahoy LF,-a long shot-but--maybe I can persuade my Bride to post here. Currently she does not visit any net boards that I'm aware of anyway. Following is off topic a bit...anyway...

We had our honeymoon in northern Wisconsin. Holed up in her dads cabin for a bit. Night in Eagle River, jacuzzi sweet-rented a VCR to watch wedding video (and gorge on the delicious fudge from a local shop in ER).

How does this tie to Lady fishers???

We spent one day on the Chippewa Flowage, one day on Lake Winter Flowage, and one day on Miller Dammn Flowage (near Roscoe from Medford). She enjoyed the casual fishing, and when slow times came--coo chi-coo chi. Caught a few here and there.

A very frugal honeymoon, money was tight, but--what memories!!!!!!!!

Pat, the best times are often had with the least or no amount of $$$$$.

I started fishing when I was 4 with my grandfather on a lake in the Adirondaks. I guess you could call that casual fishing. He rented fishing boats and had a worm farm under the boathouse us kids were in charge of. Great memories and he really taught me a lot about fishing. Except when he would bring that one lure I never could figure out what to do with. It was a church key with trebles on the end. I don't think it puled anything in but a Utica Club beer.

I wasn't introduced to saltwater fishing until about 15 years ago. Now I fish tournaments and can bring home as many fish as the guys. I have my own techniques, way to hook up and live to fish. :)

I was at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show (IBEX), I think, a few years ago. My booth was next to Wahoo boats. A lady walked by and we started a conversation. She had caught a world record wahoo a few months before the show, she knew her stuff, the guys that were with her said she outfishes them every time they go out.

Re: Lady Anglers

I took my girlfriend fishing a couple of times last season - she had never been before.

She's not a HUGE fan, but I think she'll go with me a couple of times next season.

One of the best things was watching her catch her first fish. We went flounder fishing on a headboat in Maryland. We were both lucky that day - there was a pot (like most headboats do) for the biggest flounder on the boat of legal size and if none were cought, the first flounder on the boat. Well, she cought the first flounder on the boat and I cought the biggest! :)

It was sort of a slow fishing day but really a fun day for everyone (except the guy that cought the 2nd largest).

We were pulling in a few "Stargazers" that day also. Anyone heard of them? I'd never seen them before that trip. That's got to be the most ugly fish I've ever seen. The boat was keeping them to send to a biologist..anyone know why?
