Default Boston Whaler Steering

We bought a 13' Boston Whaler a few years ago that had a console, but was vandalized and the console stolen before we bought it. We want to build a console and, of course, add the steering. It seems to have worked on a pulley system with two cables (one on each side). Does anyone know where I can get a schematic for this system or tell me how to convert to the one cable system that seems to be the norm now. Don't have alot of money to spend and saw some of the systems for like $500 - not happening. We are very handy and creative.

I'd post this question in the Boat Topics and Questions section, or the Restoration section. Not many people cruise into this part of the forum.

Anyway, about the only way to get the steering wheel/cable and pulley helm parts is to get them from another boat (like what happened to yours......) or eBay. Also try the continuouswave.com (Boston Whaler) site.
