When I raise my outboard it slowly lowers back down (within 2 minutes). Also when I initially hit the switch to raise it, the pump motor goes on but it takes about 5 seconds before the motor will start tilting. Does the fluid need to be topped off? And if so, what position should the motor be in when topping off the fluid. Should it be all the way up or down? If after topping off the fluid it still lowers slowly, what could the problem be? Thanks.

Brice, you need the motor all way down to fill the trim, 10w30 motor oil....now, before you go an tear this thing apart, i got something easy for you to try....tip the motor all the way up and CAREFULLY get up where you can get a foot on the skeg, and push down HARD on it.. the motor will tip down to the trim limit and stop...get off it and test it to see if it still leaks down...sometime debris gets caught in the check valves and this 'procedure' will flush it out. have fixed many this way.....
