Carolina Skiff DLX vs. V-Series draft

I own a CS 16' V-Series and it draws about 9". Most literature for the 17 DLX states 6" draft, but some have told me they only draw 4". I'm sure the amount of gear and # of persons will affect the draft, but I'm curious what other owners have experienced.

I have a 19' V and I've run it very shallow in waters from NC to FLA. Consideration must be give to the amount of gear you're carrying, number of people in the boat, how much fuel you have, what's in your live well and cooler(s), and do you carry a second battery. My experience has been that most published boat specs are for optimal conditions i.e. to sell boats. My only complaint about my boat has been that its a bitty to trailer in a cross wind.
