Hi - I am ready to buy a 94 crownline 210 ccr with a 5.7 Merc I/O. It's mint inside and out. Any opinions? Is Crownline cosidered a good boat manufacturer?
I have a 2000 Crownline 205BR and love it. Crownline is a very respectable builder with a very loyal coustomer service department. Crownlines are a very well built boat and I believe you will enjoy that model. Please visit the website and look around on the forum/Crownline owners. crownline.com dkiddReferrals only please. Thanks
boatgrunt, I've had good experiences with both of my Crownlines. Make sure you check the stringers and flooring for soft spots as Crownline didn't started using XL rated plywood until 1998. Also the 210CCR is pretty heavy and not a speed demon, it would be beneficial if it had trim tabs.
I have had a 1993 Crownline 186BR since it was new. The boat is well made and I have really been pleased with it. Would have replaced it when it was about 10 years old, but could not find anything that I and my family liked as well......
With ROUTINE maintenance it's not unusual for an I/O to easily go several thousand hours before a major overhaul. If you haven't maintained it and you ignore it until you hear the grinding gears or see the water from the leaking manifolds, etc, then it could already be near the end of it's lifetime.
I have a 2001 180BR with Mercruiser 4.3l engine(bought new in 2001 )...the only issue I have ever had with the boat was with the crappy Sony stereo...other than that,I have had absolutely ZERO problems with Crownlines quality...:>)
