Lots of difference. Blocks and pistons may look the same, But the inlet and exaust ports would be different, the reeds are set differently, the carbs are different. This question has been asked before, many times, same answer every time. The manufacturer puts an engine together to work at its best. You can't expect to change a carb and magically gain 10 to 15 hp. If anything you would probably lose hp and use more fuel in the process, add to that you would also be likely to build up carbon very quickly from the fuel/air mix not being able to be set correctly due to incorrect carb. It gets very involved when tring to increase your hp. In cars they have to do the head, the block, pistons etc.... In a boat, it is just as involved. I.E. not really worth it. If you really want 70 - 75 hp, consider trading your 60 in on one at a dealer or something.

There are some things that can be done easily on some motors but most of the time the motor is not set up to the max as is. We've seen folks go to great lengths to get more HP and not change the set up. The results have generally been less than impressive.

The other thing you have to have is a hull that responds very well to very small increases in torque. If you have something like a Hydrostream or Allison, then go for it.

Remember, no matter what you do, you still have the same bore and stroke and the same gear ratio.

Tell us about your rig, its set up and intended use. Lets make sure your all you can be now.
