Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a new 4 stroke 140 hp Johnson and need to change the gearcase lube after the break-in period. The problem is that the boat is in the water and I don't have a trailer to haul it out. My local low-service marina where the boat is docked can't haul it out for a couple of weeks.

My question is, if I change the gearcase oil with the boat in the water and without the engine being in a vertical position, will I be able to get the full amount of lube into the gearcase?

Thanks in advance

Gary
