Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms, please check the 'I agree' check box and press the 'Register' button below. If you would like to cancel the registration, click here to return to the forums index.

Iboat forums are a place for boaters to come and visit with each other, a friendly place to sit and chat. iboats welcomes new members who want to share their stories and discuss events, and maintain a safe boat. We like to keep this area welcoming, civil and polite.

Guidelines
1 - Refusal to obey these guidelines, will result in the appropriate responsive actions.

2 - The First post of a topic MAY NOT be used to advertise or promote a product, company, internet site, sale, individual, or service. If you wish to promote your product or internet site, please contact iboats for rates/permission. Forum posts, classified ads, or personal pages that advertise or promote one of the items listed above will be removed. Sites that reference a project or contain pictures/diagrams, etc. that can help with promoting boating safety, projects or repairs are allowed e.g., "Photobucket".

This policy is necessary to keep iboats free of non iboats sanctioned promotional material.

3 - Do not post your identifying information (buisness name, address, email address, etc.) in any of the boards.
This includes Company names, addresses, phone numbers, links to your business websites, etc as part of your screen name or signature line.

4 - Free speech is not an excuse for irresponsible behavior. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.

5 - PERSONAL ATTACKS - No slandering another iboater (calling names, personal attacks). It is ok to respectfully disagree with a person, but it is not ok to personally attack. Any person placing offensive, obscene, abusive or derogatory posts on the board will be penalized appropriately.

6 - THREAD ALTERCATIONS - Differences of opinion will occur from time to time and this is understood. Threads that generate into fights between posters will be locked. Depending upon the nature of the thread, it may also be deleted and upon request, the original poster will be informed of the reason. It is not the job of the moderators to settle disputes between members.

7 - TARGETING OTHER MESSAGE BOARDS - Please do not post your anger at other message boards by naming them. A moderator will delete these types of posts with no warning.

8 - PROFANITY - Profanity is NOT permitted.

9 - LANGUAGE - Use of foul language is discouraged on this board. Language or other material that goes beyond the bounds of good taste may be edited or deleted at the sole discretion of the management.Pictures, or links to, pictures of adult nature will not be permitted.

10 - DIRECT LINKS - Direct links will be allowed after March 1, 2008. Please understand that this does not include SPAM, and please remember to support iboats Mega Mall.

11 - COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT - Please give proper credit to the authors of original material, whether you bring it to this website or whether you take it from this website to another. It is an infringement of copyright of this board to take posts to another board and also a breach of confidentiality. If you wish to show a post from here on another board then a link should be provided.

12- Spam - Spam will not be permitted in any form. warning, if you spam, there will not be any 3 strikes. spam and you will be out immediately, after it is reported.

13 - Soliciting - The soliciting of members to buy, sell, trade, donate or give away anything is not allowed in the forums. Private transactions arranged by Private Message (PM) or private Email are not affected by this rule.


Penalties

If a Moderator thinks a post is in violation (s)he will temporarily delete the post. Moderators will confer on the post and:
* Restore the post without penalty.
* Issue and explain a warning (Probation) for a set period.
* Issue and explain a suspension of the poster for a set period.
* Ban the poster permanently and explain the reason.

Violations while under warning will result in suspension or ban.

Again, if action taken is mistaken, the poster concerned can always e mail the moderators directly. Any person placing offensive, obscene, abusive or derogatory posts on the board or sending them to board members in PM or email form will be automatically banned.

It is not our intent to impede discussion. It is our intent to keep it in accordance with the rules set forth that will help us maintain a friendly place to visit.

Although the administrators and moderators of iboats Boating Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of iboats Boating Forums, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message
