I have a 1990 Cajun (don't know model) with a Force 85 HP motor. I have a couple newbie questions for here. First, what is the throttle friction screw I believe it is called for? it is located by the ignition on the control box. Second, when starting off there is several inches of play in the throttle from when it first shifts til you reach higher speeds, is this normal? Thanks for any help!
Not entirely sure about the play in the throttle/shift. The throttle friction screw sets the resistance the throttle lever has to movement. If engine vibration causes it to idle down or such, tighten it up.

I have a 1988 with a 85 Force. I have a ridiculous amount of travel on the throttle arm before there is any response. I've tried adjusting the linkage but it didn't help. Also my neutral throttle only revs just above idle.
