First time poster here,
Can a bad trigger and/or rectifier cause a stator to mess up? I have a 1980 mercury 70hp thunderbolt and can't get it to accelerate past around 2000 rpms without it wanting to stall. I found the trigger was falling apart and replaced that last week. Problem continued...
