    1966 MFG Rebuild

Building me a shed in my parking spot. Got the ok from the guy I rent the space from. Use to have those 12 x 20 pole tents when doing a job like this. I went through 3 of them during summer months storms and winds damage the poles. That was when they were about $80 bucks. Now they are about...

    1966 MFG Rebuild

My first boat I used TB3 to glue the 3 layer of 1/2 in plywood, worked well. Dang thing was heavy as hell. Advice I got from this forum. I have not decided if I will sandwich it with TB3 or CSM. Likely I will use CSM as I never done it with CSM and was advised later I should have used CSM to...

    1966 MFG Rebuild

I was thinking about cutting the transom off as it looks slightly warped. I test fit my plywood inside and now see that it will be hard to get a bond in the bottom section on the port side. Might have to build up that section or cut it out and do a new outer skin. This was my thought last week...

    1966 MFG Rebuild

Thanks I will probably ask the site admin to move this thread to the hull repair section. Unfortunately I did remove the stringers. The boat was dry but I had an hole in the hull that I wanted to do from both sides. Since I had the deck up and was planning to do the rebuild I went on and pull...

    1966 MFG Rebuild

Opened it up this past weekend. Got the transom out and to my surprise the stringers solid hollow glass .25 inch thick. Boat was completely dry. Some foam is wet along the keel which is coming out as I need to do a hull repair. Less work I need to do. I will need to go up the side of the boat...

If you are on a bunk trailer make sure the bunks are on the chines and you should be good.

    1966 MFG Rebuild

Agree. I still have a roll of 1.5 CSM and a roll of 1708 left from my grady rebuild. I currently plotting out how I will attack this.

    1966 MFG Rebuild

Purchase yesterday 700. That plan is to gut it and build it up for crabbing and long distance hauls out to Ocean city or Cape Charles. Motor seem to be way to big for the boat its a 115 evenrude. Didnt not plan on fixing the motor. I think the max this hull should have is about 70hp.

    Replacing Keel rollers

got things put back together. I dont like how the rear rollers turned out. I need to get the encap roller and find the correct size shaft to fit the big roller with the smaller one. The guy at Eastern told me it was just a threaded rod that with a lock nut. ITs a little to wobbly for me. I am...

    Replacing Keel rollers

@dingbat Have not heard back from Seafox. I emailed them. My plans was not to have to readjust unless I really needed too. I know the boat was purchase with the trailer new. Also the bolsters are 5.25 for the inner and 5.75 for the outer. Lag bolt pulled it right down on the swivel. Only about...

    Replacing Keel rollers

You know now that I have taken items apart and starting to put back together I have a better understanding how this trailer should work for the boat when on the ramp. First I don't think my old swivel brackets moved they were so rusty and broke off when I lifted them up. Also the rollers were...
