    Water in the powerhead

Thanks for the reply. I guess I can keep my eye on it. I told them to check out thermostat and see if its showing good. It is 2 years old and might be the issue.

    Water in the powerhead

Hi all, I have a 2021 mercury pro xs 200 and during my last oil change I noticed that there was some water in my oil. For the first 10-15oz the color of the oil was milky and then te rest of the oil looked normal (dark brown) I took it to the service and they told me that its NORMAL for some...

    Outboard life expectancy

Hi all, I always wondered if a outboard is well maintained how many hours can be put on one? When I was searching online for an answer I found some enswers to be anywhere from 750 to 1500 hours. Seems a bit low in my opinion. I have a 2021 mercury pro xs 200 with 120 hours on it. What can I...

    Broken Skeg

There are two places that I can go to. One of them said they dont weld and the other guy gave me a run down how this whole thing needs to be one solid peace. Suggesting a new lower unit.

    Broken Skeg

This one is completely broken off. I called my dealer and they said they will check out the lower unit to make sure there is no other damage.. If there is no damage they said they will send it to Mercury to weld a new skeg on. Estimate for that was $650 with shipping. And 30-45 day lead time.

    Broken Skeg

Hi all, I have a 2021 200HP Mercury pro xs.. I recently hit a rock and broke off my skeg. I know there are options to weld on a replacement skeg, but I would Rather do an insurance claim and get the lower unit replaced. Any advice other then watch where you going? Thanks Zip

Deep Cycle battery polarity issues (24v)

here is the wiring... The only other thing I can think of is the battery charger... I have contacted the dealer and they said that they can test the battery charger to see if there is something wrong with it.

Deep Cycle battery polarity issues (24v)

I looked into the charger that I have NOCO Genius Gen 5 x 3 on board charger. it is a 3 bank charger, each bank charges the 12V battery individually so if the settings are correct (to chanrge a 12V battery and not a AGM or Lithium battery) it will charge properly. There is no 24V option since it...

Deep Cycle battery polarity issues (24v)

right now I have the problem battery outside. When I look at the battery checker tool (separate tool) it shows me that Negative is Positive and positive is negative. When I take my external charger and hook it up to the battery as it should be (positive to positive, negative to negative) it...

Deep Cycle battery polarity issues (24v)

It's a three bank charger, and yes all batteries are connected individually. As far as I can tell when I brought the new boat the configured charger for the batteries.

Deep Cycle battery polarity issues (24v)

Hi Everyone. I have been having polarity issues with my 24v trolling motor system. I got a brand new boat in 2021 and 12 1/2 months later I had my first factory battery issues (not covered by warranty) with polarity being reversed. Someone here mentioned to change out both batteries in fear...

Disconnecting the fuel line, let engine burn gas ?

If this is a carbureted engine you will never get all the fuel burnt off, there will always be some left in the carb, I was told using Stabil on every fill-up will prevent issues with the carbs. I have had a two stroke carbureted engine for almost 8 years and stored it in my garage over...

    Mercury PRO XS200 Tune

HI all, I have seen somewhere where someone talked about tuning the Pro XS V8 models from 200HP to 248HP without having to change any parts out... I was told that the 200/225 models have the same exact parts, and that the 250/300 models only have a different throttle body to allow more air...
