    Replacing a 75 hp Merc (1985) to a boat that had a 150XS (1985) Having a difficult time removing the throttle and shift cables. Appears to have a lever near the front of the motor. The repair manual is not clear. I hope the pictures will come thru.

    Kill Switch and what year-----

    Hello, The serial # is J8SRLCRM I think it is a 73,74 or 75 Johnson Sailmaster 8 hp with long shaft. Is the kill switch located at the end of the handle or tiller? If so, there is no movement in the button. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
