2003 Mercury 9.9 4 stroke idles and dies with throttle

My kicker runs and starts at an idle, but dies as soon as you try to put any throttle to it. Unless the choke is on. Then it will accellerate a bit but then start running poorly because the choke is on. I assume I have an issue with a high speed jet??? Carb has been apart twice. 120 PSI...

2003 Mercury 9.9 4 stroke idles and dies with throttle

My 2003 9.9 4 stroke idles fine both in gear and in neutral. As soon as I try to advance the throttle a bit it dies. If I pull the choke on, then advance the throttle, it will increase in RPM but then start running rough until I throw the choke off, then it will die unless I throttle back...

    Hydraulic steering for Honda 130

I have a chance to purchase a used Seastar Pro helm with a HC5345 steering cylinder. I see on the Teleflex website that the Honda 130 requires the HC5347 cylinder. Is the 5347 actually engineered differently or just a 5345 with some different mounting hardware? Can an adaptor kit be...

    Steering troubles

My 1994 21' Hewescraft SeaRunner with 130 Honda has just stripped out the Teleflex NFB Safe T II rotary steering for the second time. This steering kit was just installed 15 engine hours ago to replace the original teleflex cable that stripped out last November. I have a feeling that it might...

    2001 Honda 130 breakin and other ???

I went ahead and purchased the motor. (1 hour use, but Honda dealer pickled and crated since 2001), so now I have some questions. I'll have to break it in, what's the procedure? Also, I'm putting this on my 1994 21' Hewescraft. Will my existing steering for my 115 mariner (I believe 1989...

    2001 Honda 130HP

What can you Honda fans tell me about this engine? I have located a used one that was pickled for storage by a Honda dealer and put in a crate for the last 5 years. Apparently only has a couple of hours on it. I know it sounds fishy, but I have no reason to not believe the owner. He's...

On board charger and 4 battery wiring question

I want to purchase an onboard charger, and am wondering about the best option for my situation. I have 2 12 volts wired together for my 24v trolling motor. (Hard to get to, thus my reasoning to hardwire a charger in permanently) I also have 2 batteries (primary and secondary cranking) wired...

    MinnKota 65 autopilot foot control

My 65AP foot control will not turn to the left. I disassembled the foot control, and everything appears to be working, I have voltage throughout the circuit board in all positions and to the pins in the cable connector. Is there anything internal I could check or is this a job for a shop? I...

94 Mariner 115 kill circuit problem?

Very weak spark on my Mariner 115 until I disconnect the kill circuit wire from the switch box on the engine. Then I get nice hot spark. Kill wire to ground shows 12.5 volts when ignition switch is on and 0 volts when switch is off. Where do I go from here? Happy Thanksgiving!!

1994 Mariner 115 Trim Tilt wont go up

Hi Folks, Just the facts. First trip out, tilt came up in spurts like it was low on fluid, but went down fine. Thought it was low on fluid so I checked the level and it was fine, but the ATF was milky so I opened the manual release all the way and drained the fluid. I also manually raised...

89 evinrude 40 hp timing module?

    Hi all,

I just purchased a used boat with a late '80's Evinrude E40TTLCCS. It starts fine, idles fine, wants to die when placed into gear (either reverse or neutral), seems to run fine wide open if you can goose it a little when putting it into gear to keep it from dying, won't stay...
