    Tachometer on 135 hp Mariner-problem (1997)

    The tach works fine up until 4400 rpms. It won't register above. The engine is running at 49 mph at full speed. Any ideas on what to check for on the tach? It used to show 5100 rpm when tach was working properly. The tach is not a digital readout.
