Re: 150 johnson fast strike skeg

They can break but if your slow and careful you have a chance. If its only bent a little bit just use it the way it is. Often not a big deal to just let it go.
  2. Re: Suzuki Faria Tach Hourmeter Not reading Hours

The tach doesn't return to zero with the key off is normal. It might or might not. It must return to zero with the key on not running though. Can't help with hours reading.
  3. Re: What do you like about your tirm tabs?

Bennett. I have been with companies that installed hundreds of Bennett tabs and I'm pretty sure that's the only thing we never had a warranty call on.

I don't have that model but I have now and also in the past have had a few ritchie compasses and they all worked great. They are a good rugged compass. By the way, even with a good GPS mounted on...
  5. Re: What is the best sealant for sealing motor mount holes?

You don't have to wait for the 5200 to fully cure to use your boat. It will cure just fine even under water. Its a moisture cure product after all. It won't wash off unless its in a place with a...
  6. Re: Can I troll a 1800LB boat w/ a 112LB electric trolling in the Gulf of Mexico

you need three batteries and I doubt they would last vary long, maybe 3 hours. Really depends on the speed/ If you want to make very long slow turns and have no wind it might steer a little bit/ ...

  9. Re: Michigan Wheel Michigan Match #031080 Aluminum Boat Propeller 4 blade

You really want the motor to be able to run in its recommended WOT range at your average or light load. Then go ahead and run at whatever rpm you want to. Its not a good idea to get a prop that...

  12. Re: 1972 65hp Evinrude - stalls on forward on water (under load)and very hard to rest

might need to back out those idle screws just a tad more. best to adjust them in the water and in gear. idle rpm is important

Its probably a polyurethane foam board. the foam is not there for strength its just a form to create a hat section for the glass to lay over. The strength/stiffness is in the shape of the glass...

    Re: Quiet blower

If you took off the blade you would probably find that the motor is pretty quiet. Its all the air that's moving that makes the noise. In 40 years of building new boats I most likely used or tested...
  18. Re: Wacky Tach and Not Charging - 60hp Bigfoot 2006

Voltage regulator, rectifier, makes sense. However the AC voltage to them is supplied by the stator and that AC voltage is also the trigger to the tach. So, you might also want to get it running...

    Re: Controllking throttle remote

I looked at the pictures on their web site and it looks very muck like the troll master at the motor end. Uses a model airplane type servo for control of speed. I bet it works just fine.

Re: Can I raise the deck?

  41. Re: What material do I need to fill a gap or hole in my hull?
