  1. Re: Looking for advice on first boat purchase.

When my dad was into cruisers, (32ft to 42ft), the first thing he did was have a look in the bilge, if it was a mess, and dirty, he walked. Back when he had his last boat was a 38ft Chris, mid 60s,...

Simple Green, spray it around good, then spray with water, repeat if you have to. If you have real bad places, you can hose clamp a brush to a pole, and scrub it in.

That boat with a 9.9hp, plus 200lb person, and 6 gal fuel, plus gear, and maybe another 200lb person in the bow area. Thats about it. I would also try, and put the fuel tank in the middle. You can...

Re: What type of bayliner is this?

Looks like about 1987 to 1989 Capri. I have had a few, and the side windows, say 87-89. Looks like an OMC outdrive. If no paper work, sometimes, depending on state you live in, could be a "Yard...
  7. Re: Seems like my outboard is not mounted correctly....Need advice please?

From what I see in the pic, your AV plate is about 1/2" below the bottom of the boat. I would do as suggested, and bring the motor up 1 1/2". Most are setup 1" above to start. Alot of good info, on...

    Re: Fletcher arrowbeau 170

I dont know your boat, or the weight of it. But if its rated at 140HP max, a 50HP will not do you any good. You dont want to go smaller then 70 to 75% of max HP.

Re: Boat Steering Cables Please Help

Welcome, first, does the motor move freely with the cable disconected? If yes, then if a rack doesnt fit, look at getting a rotory system. They dont take up the room side to side, and work good too.

  21. Re: New boat owner: Critique my shopping list
