Little Carb Help Please.....98 SeaDoo GTX Limited 951cc
I can't get this bastard to start and I'm not sure if I have the jets all set correctly. I have the high speed jet screws (the ones underneath that you can't reach once it's all put together) set to all the way in then backed out(c.c.w.) 1/4 turn each. The top (low speed) are backed out(c.c.w) 1.5 each. I have the throttle set so that once it touched the plate I advanced it (c.w.)2.0 more past touching. Then finally the full pump screw I have set 1/4 turn past touching. Does this sound right? Of course I checked the fuel and also tried to start it on reserve just in case. I cleaned, but didn't replace the fuel filter (any reason I can't just replace that with one of the $4 inline filters from autozone vs spending the $30 from the dealer?) Both cylinders have compression #1=105 and #2=110. Both are getting spark.

It may be just the difference in year models but on my 97 GTX 787, the Hi speed screw in on the bottom and the Low speed is on the top according to my manual. Are you positive you have them identified correctly? Not calling you dumb Leedanger, just curious about the opposite to mine

No your right...I thought that is what I said but maybe my post is confusing to read. Yes high speed on the bottom and low on the top. I answered my own question though and found that the high should be set to 0 and adjustable up to 1/4+.
Re: Little Carb Help Please.....98 SeaDoo GTX Limited 951cc
Mine the same in the manual. But I found I had to fatten it up an extra 1/4 out on HI end to get that POW reaction and blazing speed. But you know as well as I about the nature of carbs. Some need a little different tuning than others On the LOW end, I had to set mine to 1-1/4 out but it's just what the book says.
