I need help finding a propeller?For a 1991 wellcraft eclipse 186 Mercruiser 4.3L V6

Hello,I bought a older boat.It's a 1991 wellcraft eclipse 186 Mercruiser 4.3L V6 Alpha 1.
I need a replacement propeller?
My Exhaust flows through the center of the propeller.3 blades,propeller is made of aluminum painted black.
I have not a clue on how to find,buy the correct blade,or where to go as well.
I don't have a book to this boat.
If I knew the correct type blade. I can search online to try to find a cheap price propeller.
I went into a sand barge today didn't know it was there.Didn't bring the trim up in time.
My propeller must of found some stones.Just broke,cheaped the tip of the fins of the propeller blades.

Does anyone know where I can order a propeller for this boat?
Use propeller would work to.I'm up for idea's?
I have know idea how much they cost.What I see so far is like $150.00 - $190.00 But,I don't know what propller I need ro how to measure it to know.
I see online 11",12"13"14"s example 15 teeth splines and such.I have not a clue.

The prop will have numbers on it that will tell the size. If your RPM was correct at WOT get the same size. You may need to remove the prop hardware to see the numbers. You can take the prop to a prop shop and they will tell you what it is and sell you one that will work.

It's dark & late now.Today I think I remember seeing numbers on the propeller.I'll look again tomarrow.
The tips of the propeller are damaged as 1/2 inch chips tookin out in areas.I hit some sand & stones from lowing the trim too low.It still works but,for how long who knows.
How do you remove this propeller?I see the big nut.How do you keep the propeller from turning when trying to loosen the nut?Got to man handle it?As hold on to the propeller?
Also,after removeing the nut does the propeller just simply slide off?I thought I better ask before hand?

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard Dan,... The learnin' curve is steep when ya start boatin'...

Do ya think you could put proper spacing in yer posts,..?? they'd be Easier to read...

Put the controller in forward, then turn the nut counter-clockwise.... use reverse for installin' the prop...
If the shaft was properly Greased when the prop was put on, Ya, it oughta slide off, after the nut is removed...

starwriter, just get the numbers on the prop first.

WOT = wide open throttle.

RPM = revolutions per minute (of engine)

None of that means anything right now because your propeller (prop) is banged up. You don't need a boat owners manual, because all they do is tell you about basic boating. You need an engine and drive manual for your mechanical bits, and it won't tell you about the size prop you need.

You probably need something like this: 17 pitch (17p), 14", 3-blade aluminum prop. Much of the what's on the prop (stamped) can narrow down the choices.

If you want to do some legwork, go to Wellcraft.com. About 75% of the boats they made have a spec sheet posted in the owner section of their website. Sometimes it will tell you what prop the boat came with stock. That's rare info. But do the steps posted above first.

Can someone lean me in the right dirrection for a replacement propeller?This propeller I had seemed fine to me as no problems until I hit the sand & damaged it.I'm not out for speed.Or to change the pitch.I don't understand what you mean by finding the RPM's & WOT why?You want me to put my engine at full throutle and tell you what the RPM's say at full throutle?I never had this engine at full throutle.Don't want to blow the engine as well,then be stuck in the meddle of the lake floating for days.I don't understand this full throutle deal your talking about.But,I'm not a boat pro as well.Newby so to speak.

On your outdrive the leg is what it is refered to at times. There is a number stamped like 1.98..1.66..2.0 post at back and thats a good starting point

Update:,
From looking at the propeller looks to be a 14 inch propeller or 7 inches from top of fin blade to center of spline.
I see a letter (K) stamped & a letter (L) stamped as well.48.78120 A40L 19F is stamped near the spine area as well.
549 E1 stamped on propeller as well.As for the "outdrive the leg is what it is refered to at times"Are you talking about that bottom fin located under the propeller near oil dran plug?If so,I don't find any numbers.
I can't believe how hard this task is to find a simple replacement propeller.I have the make & model of the boat & numbers off the propeller.1991 wellcraft eclipse 186 Mercruiser 4.3L V6 Alpha 1. and propeller 48.78120 A40L 19F (549 E1).(K) & (L).
Does anyone have a book to cross reference my numbers to a propeller that will work for me?

We'll try this again,lol My last reply didn't seem to make it to the board. Chances are those letters are factory codes for different optional props. You probably are running a 14-14.5" propeller with a 19 pitch. I would call a place like a local repair shop or iboats and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
