If I had to guess I think a 17 is closer to what you need.
I would think your dealer would have first hand experience setting up the 115.
They should let you try props till your satisfied.
With no base line to start from its pretty much impossible to do any fine tuning.
If you have the 19 in hand run it and get us the rpm and speed with a light load.
I will, however, I am making a decision on new motor based on calculated findings or better yet a test study that is out there. Do you know of any? Have been to honda site; they only have two test (one in 1998) with the original 115hp. Would I get close by finding a test with a comparable weight (1500lbs); med. V fiberglass construction using the new engine and 19pitch prop. Still looking for test; if you know of any please let me know. Thanks, Jack
Are you looking specifically for a Honda or any 115.
Evinrude Etec has about 2 pages of tests for their 115 motor.
Basic performance should be about the same The Etec 115 is 2.00 gear ratio as is the Honda.
Etec has no service for 3 years or 300 hours, fewer less complicated service intervals.
Meets or exceeds all CARB requirements.
