loss of fire 87/90hp

hey yall really need some advice on this problem.<br />i have a 87 gemini bass boat 17'4'' with a 90hp <br />johnson v4 the left bank is firing but the right bank is not.it would rev up to 7000 but in the water it would not go over 3000 10mph .i replaced the stator thinking that it would fix it but it dident make the right side fire .when i replaced the stator it would run 20mph at 5000 adjusting the trim .i switched the coils around and they all work i checked all the wiring but there is no power coming to the coil ?could it be a power pack ? how do you check them ?

Cecil...welcome to the iboats forums!<br /><br />Here's what to do....swap the power packs. Put the port pack on the starboard side and vise versa. If the spark changes sides, the pack is bad. <br /><br />Keep us posted....thanks.

i tried swapping the packs but it would only backfire it would not run at all but still it should run but the port side should be firing ???? right???<br />thanks for the help and cant wait to hear from you !
