Hello. I am new to the forum. Can anyone tell me what the setting should be to torque down a head onto a new head gasket for the one that blew out? Thanks for your help.

Welcome.

70 in/lbs, if your year is right. Post your model number to be certain.
NAPA can order you the head gasket, it's cheap. Sierra PN 18-3841 from the marine catalog.
Do yourself a favor today and order a manual from Iboats, it will pay for itself in no time!

Good luck!

Message for Paul Moir, Captain.
Paul- thank you for your prompt reply. The serial number for my Evinrude Lightwin 4 is 41060-E-08171. Can you tell me what year this engine is and whether you still recommend torque at 70 in/lbs? Do I use gasket cement except where the gasket seals to the cylinders? Thanks.
**** Reid
