1999 mercury 225 efi low rpm miss

My 1999 mercury 225 efi has developed a miss at around 1100rpm while under power. It is not noticable at low idle or higher rpm. Is there a known issue I can go after or should I just start eliminating possilbilities, i.e. fuel injector cleaner, spark plugs, etc. The motor does seem to be guzzling more fuel than normal.
