minn kota trolling motor brush instalation

I am preparing to install a new brush assembly in a 1996 model 35a minn kota trolling motor. I have all the parts coming from the factory. The motor had water in it and I had to clean it all out, it appeared to have some kind of grease in it but I could not tell and the manual I have does not talk about lubricating the bearing when I put it back together.what type, how much, and where should I put the lube? This is my first time inside a trolling moto0r I have all the seals coming and think the bases are covered. I would appreciate any advice from some one in the know. Thanks

In case anyone would like to know.
I was able to talk to a factory service man at Minn kota, He told me they use a small pea size drop of standard wheel bearing grease in the end of the bearing cap. I have installed the brush and bearings and everthing seems to be working great.
