Evinrude 200 help!

My Evinrude 200 got grass stuck in the water intake and water pump got sluggish. Motor died and will not crank. All I get is a beep and a "check engine" light. What's wrong?

you probably over heat.... a constant beep is the overheat alarm if im not mistaken... does it beep with the motor cold?
disconnect your heat sensors and see if the beep stops...

i would definetly take the lower unit down and inspect the water pump or replace if older than a year... open the Tstats and inspect them for any restrictions... some of the grass/dirt might've got past the pump and got u[ in the block and or Tstats

motor died and will not crank? does the flywheel spin when you try to start? starter spinning? we need more info

This obviously is a System Check gauge with lights as well as a horn. Doesn't "check engine" mean fuel restriction (not overheat)? Isn't there also an "overheat" alarm? Check your owner's manual.

What year 200? or model #? will the flywheel turn? does the starter turn the flywheel. you really did not tell us much to go on.
