Engine will not leave neutral

I can start my engine (Mercury 90hp) but once I throttle from neutral (forward or reverse) it dies? Any idea on where to start looking.

No weird engine sounds, died while out today and got it started but as soon as I pushed it out of neutral it died.

Are you loosing spark or is the motor just idling too low? If spark is good, do a link & sync according to your manual. Be sure to do it in the steps given.
