I'm trying to clean the salt residue (looks like barnacle glue) out of the carburetor of a Johnson 35hp J35ELCSM. I thought I had taken it apart and rinsed it after it went under water in hurricane Ivan, but it looks like I didn't.
The carb is likely shot, but I wanted to do everything I could before trying to find something they don't seem to make anymore.
Any ideas on an actual fuel flow diagram for this carbuetor so that I can know how many fluid paths and ports I need to try to open? Any ideas on dissolving this stuff other than Evinrude Engine tuner (recommended by my local dealer)
If not, any ideas where I might be able to find a replacement carburetor.
Thanks!
