Hi, I have a 1987 gm 4.3l merc. alpha1.

When I go to start my boat it starts right up and then dies. I have to start it in neutral while giving it gas. I have to leave the rpms at around 2000 in order for it not to die, for a minute or two. Once it is warm it starts right up and stays on with no problems. Also when I first take off and try to get on plane, if I press the throttle to hard it will die. Again this only happens when I first go out and the engine is not hot.

What can cause this?
I recently changed the fuel water separator, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, rotor, dis. cap, intake manifold, and other things.

Thanks
