AAARG, Hello, Shipmates. I have a 1979 , 140 johnson. that was running fine , it was a little hard to cold start, but running good.other than that.
I took it out and was sitting at the dock ready to leave and it just shut off.
I checked for spark by taking the plug wire off and no spark.
I unpluged the red wire harness, that goes to the control panel then jumped the cylanoid, and it fired and sparked, so now what i took the ign switch off and cleaned it and roughed up the contacs and i have not put it back in yet to try it to see if it worked, but i was told that it would be a ground problem between the plug and the control panel ,,??? any sugestions... please help...
