Location of primer bulb.

Am replacing my gas line and primer bulb. I have a built in tank on a Procraft Bass Boat. Hard idling found this weekend the primer bulb would not get hard like it uesd to. I bought a kit to replace it. I noticed the bulb will be in a rear compartment now. So my question is this. Does it make any difference where the primer bulb is located in relation to the tank?...Thank you for any help.

The biggest thing is to make sure there are no air leaks. Make sure your connections are tight. I did have to replace my connection to my OB because it wasn't making a good connection as well as one of the clamps on the bulb wasn't tight enough.

What size motor are you running? Those cheap primer bulb/hose combos do not work well on mid size to larger motors. The bulb will colapse when running.
