Hi Guys, I'm new to the site and was wondering if you could help me with a question. I fish lake ontario out of my 24' penn yan. last june i blew the lower unit running in on a Wednesday morning. After floating around for 4.5 hours waiting for a friend to drive up, get his boat and come tow me in as i could not raise anybody on the radio, i decided that i needed to add a kicker motor. so i've been looking around at some used motors and a friend offered me a motor that he bought new and then never used. the motor is a 2002 mercury 15hp with tiller steering. The steering does not bother me because i will be using a steering arm and steering from the helm. my question for you guys is do they make a conversion kit that would allow me to switch the motor from tiller to helm controls as far as shifting and throttle control would go??? this way i do not have to adjust in the back and walk to the front to see if i corrected my speed right. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you will need the serial number and to go to a Mercury dealer or online site.
