Hello guys and Gals, First post here, its a tough one. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Motor will start fine, system check runs its sequence fine and motor runs as it should. tach works good , volts close to 15 after running a couple of minites but never any higher.
I can rev to about 2000 rpm with no problem. When I rev above that my 20 amp fuse on the motor blows. Tach volts every gage quits working but the motor still runs good. No charging system, nothing.
Any thoughts??
Thanks,
Dave

Often the problem that you describe happens after the addition of accessories. There should be no accessories wired to the control, to the ignition switch wiring, to the ignition switch, or to the engine harness. Accessories will overload the lightweight wiring and continue to blow the fuse. The ignition system will continue to run until the ignition switch is turned to off, grounding the powerpack.

Click the thumbnail to see a basic wiring schematic containing a fuse holder with the 20 amp fuse. The fuse protects the positive feed wire to the ignition switch.

The ignition switch wiring feeds positive power to the gauges and to the engine solenoids for starting and priming.

Yes its strange , No new gages , I had been out testing a 27 Trophy plus. The boat ran 81.3 GPS. I probably made six passes . Then I put it on the trailer and pulled it out to buy some fogging oil. About 15 minites later I backed it in to winterize it , Pulled the cowling and the air box so I could fog it down. After a few minites of warming it up / reving it up the fuse blew.
Its a Mod Vp bottom so it was a rough ride in the choppy water. I was just lucky it didnt happen untill after The testing was complete.
Thanks, Ezeke
