Evening all,
I am in the process of converting a 98 25 ELEC from a tiller handle to remote control. Here's what I've done so far:
I have the remote conversion kit.
I have the control box
I have the TeleFex Safe T steering system
Everything is pretty straight forward except for two items:
1. Do I need to buy some sort of wiring harness that replaces the start and kill controls on the motor? I guess it would plug into the harness coming off the control box allowing me to start and kill the motor from the console.
2. Steering. My guess is that this will mount through the tilt tube. Do I need to purchase the clevis attachment and steering arm through the Evinrude site? Or is there some other trick I'm missing?
I have read the posts fairly extensively and these are the last remaining items I need help with before I embark on this.
