1986 MCM140 Alpha One. I recently changed the alternator belt since the belt was slipping and I was getting a low voltage light on the dashboard. I noticed that even after I changed the belt, when I start the boat it still has the low voltage light. At idle (700 RPM) the battery gauge reads about 12.5V on the dash. I also metered the batteries and they are at the same voltage. Low voltage battery light is on. Once I rev up the motor a little the voltage goes up to 14.4V on the dash and at the batteries. Since the voltage is getting to 14.4 I assume that the alternator is working properly. Is the idle voltage supposed to be similar to that of a car at 14.4V or is this 12.5V normal at idle? I have 2 batteries in the back connected to an isolator switch but I have not taken that apart yet to look at it.

Thanks,
