year 2000 90hp johnson o.b.noise in engine

i have a clacking noise in the top end of my 90 hp outboard motor,the motor runs fine at any speed,but when idled down the noise is very audible.
marine mech. checked starting bendix and bushings,all okay.any thoughts on
this problem would be appreciated thanks wishie
